The Formerly Incarcerated People's Performance Project (FIPPP) had our first Fall Festival at PianoFight Oakland on October 15 and 16 and October 22 and 23. Happily, our shows had full houses, fascinating and candid, Friday night audience panels with our performers hosted by director Wayne Harris and featured compelling solo performances by Tony Cyprien, Freddy Lee Johnson, Pamela Ann Keane, Pearl Louise, Pastor Ronnie Muniz, and Al Sasser.

With the pressing issues of mass incarceration, solitary confinement, reentry, and justice reform on both the local and national agendas, these stories of incarceration and reinvention give an invaluable insight into the conditions in prison, the post-prison experience, and life behind bars for the people who serve time and their families that serve along with them. We hope to continue to tell these stories.

We plan to bring our performers back on stage in May 2022 and hope to expand our programming to bring on additional formerly incarcerated performers and family members to our group sharing their stories. We also want to continue to provide reduced cost, sliding scale show tickets, and as well as donated seats to our shows so that no one will be turned away from a Formerly Incarcerated People's Performance Project show due to a lack of funds.

Here is how you can help: You can make a one-time or monthly donation to FFIPP to support our performers, directors, and our work. All donations by individuals are tax-deductible to the fullest extent of the law.

You can learn more about our performers and directors on our website at FIPPP.org.
