For many patients like me (especially those with rare cancers such as sarcoma), Houston’s high volume of cancer specialists offer our only hope. About 150,000 patients will seek cancer treatment in Houston this year. Seventy-five percent of them will be coming from outside of the Houston area and they (like me) will need a place to stay. For many, housing serve as a huge barrier to getting the care they need.
