ReLeaf Michigan is rebuilding Michigan's tree canopy through volunteer tree plantings on public land across the state and educating Michiganders how to properly select, plant and maintain their trees. ReLeaf Michigan relies on support from generous people like you to make these programs possible.
Since the organization formed in 1988, ReLeaf Michigan has worked with 400+ Michigan communities to plant more than 30,000 trees on public land. In 2017 alone, ReLeaf partnered with 24 communities, planting nearly 700 trees and organizing 13 educational workshops. Unlike most tree planting organizations, ReLeaf Michigan plants sizeable trees, at least 6 feet tall, which have a much higher rate of survival and a more immediate effect on the environment.
As ReLeaf Michigan prepares for another busy planting year in 2018, support from concerned citizens like you is critical to keep the programs running.
Why We Need More Trees
Over the last 100 years, nearly half of Michigan's forests have been lost to development. Trees have a multitude of benefits to our health, including improving air, water and soil quality, reducing energy, supporting biodiversity, and even improving the economic values of our homes and businesses.
