"A leg up for life" is a campaign to fund Hoofbeats Academy program expenses. Hoofbeats Academy is a PATH Intl. Premier Accredited Center located near Austin in Manor, Texas. The program serves children and adults with disability as well as providing a forever home for the equine staff. Hoofbeats Academy is dedicated to equine welfare. The unique method for care and use restores each horse. Centered and focused equine faculty members enhance the relationship and experience of the student, family and providers. Our horses have the best of diet and management. Their needs are met and it shows. Our Adaptive Horsemanship curriculum is called "Mountessori". Much like the Montessori classroom, the environment is prepared for each student (who enjoys 1 to 1 student/teacher ratio). The student is allowed maximum independence in a structured learning environment. Hoofbeats Academy students achieve personal goals that result in improved quality of life. To present our very specialized service is expensive. A riddle for you, "How do you make a small fortune in horses?" The answer, "Start with a large one." Hoofbeats Academy is fortunate in many ways! We have contracts with local disability service agents and private enrollment to generate revenue. The revenue keeps our barn doors open and feed in the bins but has not allowed for growth. With more revenue we can do so much more. It is our goal to build a vocational barn. Hoofbeats Academy plans to offer our post grad students a place to use their horsemanship skills in a familiar working/vocational environment. Your donation can help our horses and students! A donation can buy hay, feed, winter clothing or even a truck and horse trailer (so we can evacuate in case of wildfire or get to the vet in an emergency). Your donation will be used to improve the learning environment and insure the program has a campus. Your donation can do so much. Please give, now!
