First Call Parent Mentor Training
We are holding a hybrid training on November 1 for interested local Parent Mentors who have children with Down syndrome ages 5 and under to be part of our program called "First Call." This program offers new and expectant parents
receiving a diagnosis of Down syndrome the opportunity to connect with trained parent mentors who share the same or similar life circumstances. As a First Call Trained parent mentor, you would be: A trained volunteer available to confidentially listen, share resources, and provide valuable, current information about Down syndrome A connection and support a new/expectant parent via phone calls, text, e-mail, DM's, or whatever is most comfortable Willing to commit to one year of support to a new/expectant parent
In-person training will take place at the Ross Township Community Center located at 1000 Ross Municipal Drive, Pittsburgh, PA 15237 and we will have a Zoom feed for anyone looking to take this training virtually. Please choose which method of participation you plan to utilize.
