Saturday + Sunday, July 8, 9 | 10–4pm

This is an introductory two-day course into draft making for weaving. We will spend the first day hand drafting with paper and pencil. On the second day you will have the chance to weave your prepared drafts with rapid iteration. Knowledge from this course can be used in computer drafting software (such as Fiberworks, Weavemaker, iWeaveIt), and can also be applied to designing files for Jacquard looms in Photoshop. Topics covered will include common threadings, four shaft and eight shaft designs, profile drafting, and block designs. Individual experimentation into pattern and structure is encouraged!
