About This Registration
April 3, 10, 17, & 24, 2019
Four Wednesdays, 6:30 pm – 9:00 pm
This workshop will focus on developing your skills as you build the project of your choice. Rusty will work with you individually, assisting where requested, demonstrating specific techniques such as dovetail joints, suggesting possible solutions to problems encountered and pointing out design opportunities along the way. Come with an idea of what you want to build and the wood necessary to construct it. Bringing a set of plans and tools will make the entire process go faster. The first night can be used for developing plans, sharpening tools, et cetera, or the student can begin the building process immediately.
Besides the power tools available in the workshop, the following would be handy to have (if you don’t have any of these, or don’t know what I’m talking about, don’t worry, it will be fine).
Suggested tool list:
Hammer, Mallet, Chisels, Jack Plane (No. 5), Smooth Plane (No. 4), Block plane (60½, 9, 9¼, 110, 220, and so forth), Saw(s): dovetail, carcass, ryobi, panel (crosscut, rip), Tape measure, Pencil or marking knife, Router plane, Sand paper and Combination square.
