??Foster Creek Project is a stream restoration project that Mills River Partnership started back in 2020 with Living Web Farms. Last winter over 6,000 plants and live stakes were installed along the newly restored section of Foster Creek and 90 percent of them sprouted and flourished in the spring! There are a few gaps in the vegetation that we would like to fill with 600 more live stakes and that is what we need you for! These live stakes are dormant cuttings from a variety of riparian plants including dogwood, elderberry, ninebark, and more. The live stakes are inserted into the soil and will grow roots into the bank. These water-loving plants will help stabilize the stream bank to prevent erosion. We look forward to having you volunteer with us and please email [email protected] with any questions.
