Angelic Organics Learning Center needs you to volunteer for our land restoration days! Restoration work ensures the beautiful and rare old growth oak savanna along Kinnikinnick Creek at the Learning Center's Lodge will thrive! After last season's restoration, many native plants reappeared on the land including columbine and wild strawberry. You can help us further that effort by registering to volunteer during our Work Days. Give back to nature while enjoying a great work-out in a lovely setting. Learn about ecology, and meet interesting people.
Volunteers will participate in removing aggressive non-native shrubs like honeysuckle and buckthorn, identifying and protecting native plants, gathering native seed, burning brush and other needed work. Tools and equipment provided. We will also have snacks! Please bring your own water. Dress for the weather: work gloves, long pants and sleeves, and sturdy boots are recommended. Don't wear your favorite clothes.
Due to the nature of the work, Restoration Work Days are best suited for youth 12+ and adults. Fire, chainsaws and other implements may be in use that are not suitable for younger participants.
Please register for Restoration Work Days below. For questions or to register a group, call Randy at 630-773-4949 or email us at [email protected]
