General Information:
Citizens Against Abuse is pleased to announce the 5th Annual Leroy Brown Memorial Scholarship and the CAA “Shining the Light” Scholarships 2021 for high school seniors who reside in Northern Will County area. The scholarship will provide financial assistance to a student meeting the criteria listed below. Scholarships are intended for undergraduate college attendance beginning in the fall of 2023 at a college, university, or trade school. All scholarship awards will be paid directly to the college, university, or trade school.
Eligibility:
An applicant must reside in northern will county and must have experienced abuse, such as any form of domestic violence, emotional abuse, physical abuse, or neglect. The recipient must attend an accredited two or four-year college or university, or a trade school and provide proof of acceptance attached to the application.
Eligibility Disclaimer:
An applicant must not have a criminal history of any offenses.
Components of the Application Package:
Attached to the application, which includes a Personal Essay on what “Domestic Abuse” means to you.
Application Deadline:
A completed application must be submitted and postmarked or emailed no later than Friday, April 28th, 2023, or the application will be ineligible for consideration.
Notification:
The recipients of the scholarships will be announced in May 2023 and will receive an acceptance award letter.
