Mentors are the heart of our programs.
Mentors will be working one on one with youth from various challenging backgrounds and emotional mental health concerns such as
- foster care / adoption placements
- anxiety / depression
- death of a loved one
- divorce / separation
- bullied / bullies
- low understanding of their worth
Mentors meet between 60 & 90 minutes either weekly or bi-weekly with their mentee to provide equine experiential learning opportunities and other activities that help build trust, relationships and other core areas such as responsibility, independence and emotional awareness and ultimately hope. Mentors complete an activity log of their mentees session.
No prior horse experience is required. Training is provided & required. Core activities are provided for the Stable Moments program and can also be utilized in the Spurs program as well.
Background checks are required.
