Connection Recovery Support Group Disclosure Statement

This is a support group. The purpose of a support group is to help people

1) lend and receive support,

2) share insights and similar experiences,

3) solve problems by using the combined wisdom of the group, and

4) celebrate together good times and “be there” during the bad ones.

This is not a therapy group. This group does not interpret behavior, provide insight, analyze relationships, facilitate change, or provide technical or clinical advice or direction.

Resources are available from NAMI -Colorado Springs and its representatives, but neither group facilitators nor NAMI Colorado Springs board members are responsible for any action(s) taken as a result of a referral.

All our facilitators and board members are volunteers acting in “good faith” to support, educate and advocate for persons and families who are navigating severe, persistent mental illness. No one receives payment, and neither the NAMI -Colorado Springs non-profit organization nor its representative (s) are responsible for the outcome of actions taken by family members and/or individuals living with mental illness who accept the support of this group.
