Fund the Fireworks

Each year on the 4th of July the night sky comes alive with multi-hued rockets in a beautiful fireworks display at Mt. Rubidoux and La Sierra Parks. The fireworks displays have been an Inland Empire tradition for families and revelers for over 30 years. Approximately, 200,000 celebrators view the mesmeric display of vibrantly colored rockets exploding in front of the dark curtain that is the sky. The fireworks are tuned up with music, and produce amazing colors and designs as the music reaches its crescendo.
During this year’s budget cycle the City’s most iconic events, the 4th of July Spectacular Aerial Fireworks Shows at La Sierra Park and Mount Rubidoux were removed from the City’s general fund in order to maintain and continue to provide essential services to the community for youth, seniors, the special needs population and park maintenance.
For over 30 years the fireworks shows have been a long-standing tradition and display of patriotism and military pride in Riverside and the community wants this hometown night of gathering and celebration under a sky bursting with fireworks to continue. In response to the public, Riverside Community Services Foundation has begun a campaign to “Fund the Fireworks.” The campaign has a goal of $80K.
