Auditioning: Musical Theater

Holly Jennings enjoys a well rounded career as a performing and teaching artist. Her forte being musical theater, she has worked alongside award winning directors and actors in productions of world premiere musicals as well as traditionally staged classics throughout New England. An award-nominated actress, some of her favorite roles include Mary in Jack the Ripper: The Whitechapel Musical (premiere), Luisa in The Fantastiks, Cosette in Les Misérables, and Carrie in Carousel. Holly received her formal training at Boston Conservatory, where she graduated Magna Cum Laude with a degree in Vocal Performance. She has taught at Community Music Center of Boston and is currently on voice faculty at South Shore Conservatory.

In this audition masterclass you will gain performance experience and audition preparation while singing Musical Theater repertoire in a safe and supportive environment. This interactive class will give everyone a chance to sing and develop a song they have prepared, while working with seasoned performing and teaching artist Holly Jennings.
Students should prepare/bring:
Students should prepare an entire song from the Musical Theater repertoire that they will perform with an accompaniment (karaoke) track. There is a wide selection of accompaniment and karaoke tracks on YouTube. Please test out the track in advance, so you can be sure it meets your needs.
