ArtsUp! LA has been given the unique opportunity to perform The Braille Legacy after making its debut in London, but that dream could be shattered because of the financial strains that Covid created. The production features 14 blind actors from Theatre by the Blind and 10 musicians with different disabilities from Rex and Friends. In order to bring this show to life, the need to fundraise soon became apparent. Theatre by the Blind had the idea to bring all of you together for an event to help make it happen. Thus, Private Eyes was born.
Calling all Gum-Shoes!
Private Eyes: A Blind Experience will be an unforgettable event in which audience members become detectives who must use their senses to complete challenges and solve a case - all while blindfolded! This auditory performance from Theater by the Blind immerses audience members in a hands-on and interactive experience unlike any other.
Your ticket purchase includes a blindfold , a dossier on all of the suspects , and an evidence pack with several challenges that must be completed without the use of your eyes. Only detectives with keen senses and attention to detail will find out who-dun-it.
Do you have what it takes to solve the case?

About Theater by the Blind :
Theatre by the Blind , the country’s only theatre troupe composed entirely of blind actors, helps blind and visually impaired individuals become self-sufficient using theatre-based programs and original performances to help them to successfully navigate through today’s society. Theatre by the Blind provides participants with a constructive and creative forum to confront their challenges while informing the public, raising awareness, and changing perceptions about the capabilities of the blind. These remarkable individuals create and perform original theatrical works that empower and inspire program participants and audiences alike.
About Rex & Friends:
Rex & Friends is a program that provides support and training in musical abilities, and performance opportunities for individuals in Southern California with different disabilities. Both of these disabilities tend to isolate, and the program is geared to help bridge this isolation. We bring these musicians together and provide ongoing professional support and guidance. Participants develop musical repertoire in an environment that is sure to grow friendships, self-esteem, and skill while rehearsing and ultimately performing in front of live audiences.
This performance is made possible in part by the City of Culver City and its
Cultural Affairs Commission, with support from Sony Pictures
Entertainment and the Culver City Arts Foundation.
