Tutus and Ties Fun Run
do I register for a vaccine? Do I need to wear a mask or not? Can I get together with my friends now? We are looking forward to putting some of the
Covid restrictions behind us, and we are delighted to announce that we are planning to hold our 2021 Tutus and Ties Fun Run IN PERSON this year! If Covid will not allow that to happen, we will pivot to the online event blueprint that we did last year.
AIM allows our AIMers to live “normal” lives,
even during a pandemic. Several AIMers have
remained on the job throughout the pandemic working at essential, front-line
businesses like grocery stores, while others were laid off or furloughed but
are finding work again. As
hospitalization rates decreased and more people received their vaccines, the
virtual activities that we offered earlier in the pandemic transitioned back to
Even during the challenges of 2020 and into this
year, AIM has allowed our young adults who have intellectual and/or
developmental disabilities to experience more independence than their families
had ever thought possible. Because of
AIM, their parents get to experience the peace of mind that comes from
providing their son or daughter the right blend of support and independence.
AIM provides the following supports primarily
funded by the Tutus and Ties Fun Run:
so that AIMers can get to work and AIM activities
for ongoing learning, physical fitness, and social activities
so that AIM can be their lifelong community
Our Tutus and Ties 2021 goal is to raise $28,300. We
hope you consider supporting us this year because our mission to make
independence possible for these remarkable, resilient adults with disabilities
like autism and Down syndrome is ongoing.
And since we don’t charge a fee to our AIMers or their families, we rely
on the funds we raise with this event to help AIMers live their best lives.
Please join us in making independence
possible for these young adults with disabilities.
