About Request for Speakers & Panelists
When people understand and relate to a problem, they’re more inspired and empowered to seek out solutions.
In that light, we are requesting your involvement with the 2022 Region 8 Community Action Conference to be held in Breckenridge, Colorado July 20th-22nd at the DoubleTree Hotel!
The 2022 Region 8 Community Action Conference is a privately and publicly funded event that engages CO, MT, ND, SD, UT, and WY policy makers, government employees, social service agencies, nonprofits, advocates, volunteers, and people with low-income in intensive learning, training and planning around community poverty and economic development issues.
This year’s theme is Community Action: Achieving Human Capacity and Community Transformation and we are hoping to tie presentations and sessions into that theme. The possibilities are endless, so surprise us with your ideas, but remember, audiences respond best to interactive and collaborative sessions and participants are looking for “walk away skills” and “solutions” on subjects including, but not limited to: Diversity, inclusiveness, and Equity, Sustainability, The Theory of Change, Trauma Informed Care, Motivational interviewing, Leadership/Organizational Management; Finance/Accounting; Professional Development/Personal Wellness.
We hope that you consider working with us to make this our best conference yet!
YOU CAN PARTNER WITH AN ACTIVE POVERTY FIGHTING NETWORK:
Local organizations throughout our state, known as “Community Action Agencies or Community Services Block Grant (CSBG) Entities/Subcontractors”, actively partner with communities and other organizations on the local, state and national level to reduce the causes of poverty, fight the impacts of poverty, and help people with low-income achieve self-sufficiency. The Colorado Community Action Association works primarily in the arena of training and technical assistance activities that make sense for communities & agencies offering services that help people cope with and overcome obstacles to self-sufficiency.
