About 2nd Annual Sickle Cell Warrior Walk-Run 5K

"Because Sickle Cell Awareness Matters" — Breaking The SSickle Cell Cycle Foundation, Inc. cordially invites you to the 2nd annual Sickle Cell Warrior Walk/Run 5K!  The Sickle Cell Warrior Walk/Run 5K is an inspiring, family-friendly event to unite the Nashville community and surrounding areas in bringing awareness to the genetic blood disorder, sickle cell disease, and to create long-lasting relationships to help support members of the sickle cell community.  The race will be held on September 17th 2022, at the beautiful Shelby Park- River View Shelter. Runners will begin the race at 8AM, all walkers will begin at 8:05AM. 


All participants must complete the course by 9:00am.  Post-race events will culminate with light refreshments and an awards ceremony. 


RACE REGISTRATION FEES


1-Mile Walk Registration Fee (until 9/11 midnight):

$25

5K Run Registration Fee(until 9/11 midnight):

$35

Any Late Registration-after 9/11/2022 Fee:

$45 


Medals will be awarded during the post-race ceremony.

(YOU MUST BE PRESENT TO RECEIVE A RACE MEDAL. NO MEDALS WILL BE MAILED.)


RACE T-SHIRTS

All race entrants that register by SEPTEMBER 1ST will receive an authentic SCD 5K Walk/Run Race T-Shirt.


RACE PACKET PICK-UP  (TENTATIVE DATE):
Friday September 16th (5-7pm)- Shelby Park- River View Shelter

  • You may register for the 5K during Race Packet Pick-up Friday September 16th Credit/Debit Card Only.
  • Race Packet Pick-up will end at 7:45am Race Day
  • If you are picking up a Race Packet for someone else, you will need a photo copy of their ID.
RACE DAY
Saturday September 17th, 2022 @ 8:00am

The race will start promptly at 8:00am in front of Riverview Shelter

AWARDS
Over-All Winners and Age Group Winner Race Medals

Race Medals will be awarded to:
Male and Female Overall 1st Place Winners

1st, 2nd and 3rd in the following groups:
2-12, 13-18, 18+
(YOU MUST BE PRESENT TO RECEIVE A WINNERS MEDAL. NO MEDALS WILL BE MAILED.)


RACE PARTNERS and TIMING

The Sickle Cell Warrior Walk/Run 5K timing will be managed by Personal Best Racing, LLC Utilizing chip technology for timing the event. Tabulated results for overall finishers and age group finishers will be published online immediately as the race progresses as well as sent by e-mail post-race. 


The mission of the Breaking The SSickle Cell Cycle Foundation 501c(3), a non-profit organization is to promote awareness, education, and prevention of sickle cell within at-risk communities through education and service. Your paid registration helps the organization in conducting outreach efforts of educating the community to assist in "breaking the cycle of sickle cell disease " and directly supporting sickle cell warrior families in the Nashville community and surrounding areas.
