About Remembering Gwendolyn Tose Rigell

Mom Gwen was more than a principal to many!!! She was my ROCK!!!

????????????????????I met her while in foster care at James Blair Middle school located in Williamsburg, VA. She immediately took a strong liking to me. When she relocated to Florida, she wrote the state of Virginia requesting I be permitted to come with her. At the time, I was sentenced to 18 months up state.
Moving to Florida, being with her, and learning how to feel safe, and protected shifted the trajectory of my life!!! She always told me, I was going to go from my GED to my PHD and she would love me through my pain! ????????????????????????????????

She was not my foster mom; she was my mother!
Several things she taught me, but to many to list, so I identify a few!
??She taught me the power of sowing
??She taught me the power of tithes
??She taught me the power in Getting Back UP!
??She taught me how to want more for myself and not allow my trauma to define me!
??She taught me the true definition of love and what it means to help another person!
This scholarship is in honor of her undying love for me! ????????
