Students who are a part of Northeast High School’s after-school film academy will receive a rigorous and comprehensive education that will enable them with revenue-making skills within a year.
The first semester will be dedicated to learning video production fundamentals, such as camera operation, lighting, sound, editing, scriptwriting, on-camera performance, and production.
The second semester will be dedicated to putting their new video production skills into action by making actual content for clients: businesses throughout the community who have partnered with us to have promotional materials made on their behalf, to be distributed through their marketing departments.
All year long, students will also benefit from weekly guest lectures by professionals in the field, individuals who are making a living performing the very skills the students are learning. Students will gain invaluable networking connections and industry knowledge on how to succeed in the field.
Every student will also learn how to brand and market themselves. By the end of the year, each student will have their own website and YouTube channel that exhibits the large portfolio of professional work that they have accumulated throughout the year.
This is a great opportunity to learn many valuable skills that will make you market value assets.
At the conclusion of this after-school film academy, students will have professional video production skills, real-life interactions with clients and video production professionals, a portfolio of work, marketing abilities, and a strong foundation of knowledge that upon graduation will open doors to either higher education in video production or immediate employment in the field.
