Our Objective
Outdoor playtime has never been more important for Fulton County youth as we work to bridge learning loss and time separated from peers due to the Pandemic. Children need time outside to exercise, form friendships, use their imagination, and build skills like taking turns, conflict resolution, and dramatic play.
Mental Fitness has a unique opportunity to create an inclusive and dynamic play space in our newly acquired STEAM Academy located at 5064 Harris Street, Union City, Georgia 30291. The new playground will serve the youth attending our after-school programs, summer camps, workshops, and family activities. The new outdoor area will cover approximately 2,500 square feet and will include a play structure for children ages 4-12, with outdoor benches suitable for students, teachers, and parents. Planning for the site begins Spring of 2022, with an anticipated installation fall of 2022.
We are proud to invest in facilities and programs that help keep our families employed and children safe. In addition to supporting this project with a donation, additional ways to help make the playground become a reality include sharing this campaign with friends and helping us identify community resources for tools and materials.
