In 2013 I (Myrna, Director/Founder) went on a mission trip to Comayagua, Honduras and found that there is a need for education for the helpless. When a person suffers from an injury or is disabled, they are told that they will never be able to walk again or there is nothing the doctors can do. Some families are told they are being punished if they are have a child with disabilities. We wanted show these patients that they are loved and deserve quality care and respect.
Santa Margarita is our physical therapy program that seeks to help the children and adults of Comayagua, Honduras with physical therapy needs, education and mentorship. These families come to our program shunned by their community because of their disabilities and we work to give them the dignity that everyone deserves!
Over the last decade, we've been blessed to support our community members Dulce and Wendy as they studied and worked to become Physical Therapy Technicians, and to open up a therapy building in Comayagua. We have been able to add Katja to our team who comes from the US. We have been able to buy property and build a free standing building to support our physical, occupational, speech and spiritual needs. Thank you so much for your support throughout the years and we look forward to what the future brings with continued support.
