Neighborhood Housing Services of New Orleans was established in 1976 and the mission for the past 40+ years is to support and promote homeownership that is affordable and sustainable for all.
Our non-profit main service is providing clients with Home Buyers & Financial Literacy Training, One-on-One Counseling Sessions to assists clients with setting SMART GOALS, and promoting affordable and sustainable housing for all participants.
Our organization focuses on placing clients in homes but also equipping them with the skills and tools to ensure that they can sustain their homes for long term. We encourage building generational wealth with real estate, multiple streams of revenue, and community engagement.

The focus of the NHS program is to meet the clients where they are. Since the pandemic, it has been a struggle to stay afloat financially but working with our clients and creating innovative ways to keep them focused on their goals are what makes our staff continue to do the work we are passionate about - and that is making Homeownership a reality for all.
