About November Letter!

Over the next two months we will provide almost 3,000 meals to those in need! Starting with our “Traditional Thanksgiving Dinner” on Wednesday November 23rd. We will also be giving away clothing, personal hygiene items, coats, hats, blankets and even more! Can you imagine in these days that we live, there are still folks who are hungry, homeless, and hopeless. Of course, Jesus told us that we would always have the poor with us (John 12:8). This from the man who also told us that the second greatest commandment is that we should love our neighbor, just as we love ourselves!  We need your help showing love to our neighbors!

Not everyone can work “hands on” with those in need. As a matter of fact, God did not give all of us the desire or ability to work with the homeless and needy. I didn’t have that desire until I got involved with them! After getting to know them and working closely with them, I came to understand that they for the most part are just like me.

Whether you can work directly with those in need or if you help them by giving to the Union Gospel Mission, you are doing your part to help change lives! Your partnership with the Union Gospel Mission keeps food in stomachs, clothes on bodies, and hope in hearts of the people we serve! Your gift helps us to continue "Meeting Needs, Making Change, and Magnifying Christ!"

Come and Join us for our Annual Community Thanksgiving Dinner! Wednesday, November 23rd, 2022 - 11am Parking Lot of the Bessie Smith Cultural Center
