About In Memorium - John Davis

John Matthew Davis of Iselin, NJ passed suddenly into eternity on Thursday, January 5, 2023.

John was born in Clinton, NC to Norman and Lynette Davis (nee. Norton). The youngest of five children, John adored his mother and father, and loved his siblings dearly. He attended Union High School and afterward he immediately joined the workforce.

In 1986, John met Rosemarie Davis (nee. Johnson). They married in 1989 and together they raised three children - Eric, Alyssa, and Evan. His wife and children were his pride and joy.

John was a devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, uncle, and friend. Aside from his family, John was most proud of his business, Pneuquip, which he started in his home garage in the 1990s and grew to be a thriving construction equipment repair business operating in Metuchen today. Through his business, he made many treasured friends including Frank Iacono, who was his sales rep from Cardinal Sales.

When he wasn’t hard at work, John loved spending time with family, doting on his grandchildren, and road-tripping with his wife and, in recent years, his mother-in-law. He was very patriotic, and although he lived in New Jersey almost all of his life, he was very proud of his southern roots. John loved to make people laugh. Whether he was telling dad jokes, playfully teasing his loved ones or doing the “chicken wing” dance with his grandchildren, he always managed to bring a smile to people’s faces.

John is survived by his beloved wife of 33 years, Rosemarie, and his devoted children Eric,  Alyssa (Eric), and Evan (Allyson). John was a very proud “Grandpops” to his grandchildren Lily and Jack, and was very excited about his third grandchild on the way. He is also survived by his treasured nieces and nephews.

When John’s friend Frank and his wife Michele lost their beloved 11-year-old son, Luca, to cancer, John was devastated for them. This past year John and his family participated in the "Love for Luca 5k" to help raise funds to support the organization that helped the family. To honor John, while also remembering Luca, in lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Infinite Love for Kids Fighting Cancer.
