Blessings currently operate in 27 local schools and four preschools, providing over 2400 children in food-insecure homes with weekend meals each Friday. Locally, 25% of children live in poverty, and 54% of the households in Citrus County are asset-limited, income constrained, and employed.
These families are trying to make ends meet but need some extra help. In addition, with a large senior population, we see firsthand the strain on grandparents who now find themselves raising their grandchildren or great-grandchildren.
