About Knowledge builds power and confidence

Our pilot, which will roll out in 2014, will provide our workbook, which is rich with information, individual support, and ongoing advocacy to ensure implementation of SB 629 so that people receive their Cal-IDs before they leave prison.

We can see the light at the end of the tunnel!

Our workbook has been a passion project for me. It has been more challenging and taken longer than expected, but I can finally see the light at the end of the tunnel.   We can see that. The information in the workbook will build confidence, reduce anxiety, and increase success for people coming home.

The story we hear more than any other is about not being able to wash your hands in public restrooms because there are no handles to turn the water on. You are just standing there with soap on your hands, totally frustrated.

We have information about changes in sinks, jobs, dining, shopping, Cal-IDs, and so much more. After decades in prison, whatever people can learn before is truly a gift.  And maybe most importantly, we provide coping strategies for anxiety.

Your support is that gift.

We are in our final stages of editing (raising money for final editing), going to design, finalizing, and getting ready to roll out the pilot to women and men inside.
