Sowing Seeds for Sustainable Growth 

At Water Wanderings, we're dedicated to building healthy and equitable relationships that foster resilience and cultivate love and joy. Our unique camps provide families and young people with the opportunity to learn, grow, and flourish through inclusive community building, outdoor adventure, and environmental education. We firmly believe that everyone should have access to outdoor adventures, regardless of their background, and that's why we prioritize community and equity in all that we do.

The Water Wanderings Experience

Water Wanderings camps take place in the Green River Reservoir State Park, where campsites are accessed only by canoe and campers learn to live without running water, electricity, cell phones, or buildings of any kind. Our high counselor-to-camper ratios ensure that every child receives the attention and guidance they deserve. Our carefully crafted curriculum integrates learning about equity, community, outdoor skills, sustainability, art, creativity, and ecology, offering an enriching and meaningful experience that strengthens campers relationships with themselves, each other and the earth. 

Our Impact in 2023

In the 2023 season, we had the privilege of serving 23 campers, and we expanded our reach to an additional 62 individuals through public workshops. Notably, we collaborated with the Burlington School District Summer Program to bring the wonders of nature and our unique environmental justice curriculum to even more young hearts and minds.

A Vision for the Future

As we look to the future, we're setting our sights on greater possibilities. For the upcoming summer, we plan to welcome 38 campers and continue our valuable collaborations with schools, aiming to inspire and educate more children and families than ever before. Additionally, we are excited to be entering a strategic planning phase to chart the course for Water Wanderings over the next three years.
