About Stan Vitikas 2024 Campaign
Friends,
Pancreas cancer has the highest mortality rate of all major cancers, is the 3rd leading cause of cancer-related death in the United States. In 2001 the five-year survival rate was only 5%, today the five-year survival rate is now 13%. With your continued support throughout the years, we have been part of moving this needle up. Our funding support of the TGen Triple and the Grand Slam, we have been part of changes that has changed the gold standard of care for patients around the world. Through the luck of early detection, great health insurance, multiple surgeries and stent procedures, I was fortunate, but very few patients are, and surviving this disease is a journey. I wouldn’t be here without the best surgeons and treatment protocols, none of which would exist without medical research and funding. I was blessed, but I must pay it back by doing more!
That is why I passionately support the Seena Magowitz
Foundation, an organization that’s raised millions to support research and
fast track clinical trials to treat Pancreatic Cancer. Funding goes
directly to the brilliant doctors and surgeons at Honor Health including Dr. Erkut Borazanci, Dr. Daniel Von Hoff, and renowned
surgeon Dr. Douglas B. Evans, Chair of Surgery at the Medical College of
Wisconsin, who work tirelessly to help patients live longer with
revolutionary treatments and surgical protocols. They are setting the national
standard for treating this formidable disease, including a recent approach to
further ‘arm’ a patient’s immune system (T cells) to more efficiently attack
and kill cancer cells, making the tumor more responsive to treatments.
Last year’s event at American Family Field, Home of the Brewers in Milwaukee featured 80 pancreas cancer patients, survivors and their caregivers. The goal this year is to bring 125 patients and survivors to the 2024 event on August 2nd-4th in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, numbers that were unimaginable two decades ago. This year we will be doing an In Person Pancreatic Cancer Conference with three roundtable sessions Friday, Saturday and Sunday bring together patients and their caregivers from around the country and internationally with top Doctors, Nurse Navigators, and Clinicians. Along with this Dr. Evans and his team at MCW will be hosting a Pancreatic Cancer Medical Symposium for health care providers from around the country. If you would like to join us in Milwaukee for the Dinner on the Diamond at the Home of the Brewers in Milwaukee please go to www.seenamagowitzfoundation.org/milwaukee.
I will match 100% of all donations (up to $20,000), with a goal to raise $100,000. I must always strive to do more. Dr. Borazanci, Dr. Evans and their teams are making progress against late stage disease, giving patients HOPE in this fight. Please help meet this goal together by making a tax-deductible donation to support this cause.
THANK YOU in advance for your generosity!
