About Junior Naturalist 2024

Designed for ages 12-15, campers will explore nearby trails to discover which plants we use for food and medicine. Your child will learn native plant identification and how to prepare simple first aid salves and ointments. All camps take place in our unique garden classroom on 110 acres of natural boreal forest! Expert staff lead campers through fun, hands-on, science-based environmental education activities. All camp materials are provided as well as weekly take-home projects. Adult to camper ratio is 1:9.

Our camps are held outside rain or shine in our tent covered outdoor garden classroom. Campers staying the full day or enrolled in our morning session should pack a lunch and snacks for each day. Campers joining us for the second half of the day should also pack snacks. All campers need to bring extra clothing layers, water bottle, hat, sunscreen, bug spray, closed-toed shoes (no sandals), and a backpack. Please leave all toys and electronics at home. Books are always welcome.

Full Day camp runs from 8:30am-4:00pm. Any changes to your child's drop-off or pick-up times must be made at least 24 hours in advance in writing or in person to the Camp Director, Stacey Shriner.
