Does your student love to be in the spotlight? Come be a part of one of our 2-week intensive musical theatre camps. Our camps are open to all levels of experience and interests. Performers are immersed in an intense, fun endeavor to build an entire show using teamwork while expanding their skills. Students build confidence, gain experience, make friends and have a lot of fun. At camp’s end, students will perform in a full production (costumes, makeup, set, lighting) for family and friends. Performers will be challenged to master complex music, choreography and follow professional direction. CAPA Summer Musical Theatre Camps will be held at Indian Hill High School and are open to students in Grades 5-8 from the Tri-State area. Auditions are not required, however if you would like to be considered for a role you must audition. All students that do not audition will still be an integral part of the camp and will be in the shows ensemble. You must be registered for the camp to participate in the auditions. Auditions will be held on May 4, 2024. If you would like to audition for a role but are unavailable on the audition dates or you have other questions regarding auditions, please email [email protected].
Based on the original Broadway production that ran for over thirteen years and was nominated for nine Tony Awards, and the Academy Award-winning motion picture, Disney’s Beauty and the Beast JR. is a fantastic adaptation of the story of transformation and tolerance. Disney’s Beauty and the Beast JR. features some of the most popular songs ever written by Alan Menken and the late Howard Ashman, along with new songs by Mr. Menken and Tim Rice. The classic story tells of Belle, a young woman in a provincial town, and the Beast, who is really a young prince trapped under the spell of an enchantress. If the Beast can learn to love and be loved, the curse will end and he will be transformed to his former self. But time is running out. If the Beast does not learn his lesson soon, he and his household will be doomed for all eternity. With many fun supporting roles allowing students to play objects inside the castle, this "tale as old as time" is filled with spectacular costume and set opportunities.
