“Throughout high school as a volunteer leader for a number of youth STEM-focused groups, I was able to encourage other young girls faced with discrimination as I was, to ignore it and continue doing what they love. While I enter college as a Computer Science major, with a focus on computational biology, I will continue to help empower underrepresented groups to pursue careers and further their education in STEM. It’s important to do what we can to increase inclusivity in an age of growing negativity and judgment.”
