This inaugural $2,000 award recognizes one exceptional high school student from Western Massachusetts who has shown extraordinary perseverance in overcoming personal hardships. The award not only acknowledges their grit but also encourages others to keep pushing forward, providing hope and inspiration.

• Be enrolled in a Western Massachusetts high school
• Participate in the 4th annual Mentoring Matters 5K
• Submit a 500-1,000 word essay
• Include a recommendation letter

Applications are due by July 31, 2025, and the winner will be honored at the event.
