About Volunteer
The Friends of the Locust Fork River is a volunteer non-profit organization.
We volunteers lead hikes, floats, and canoe trips, present our annual Kid’s Day on the River, and other summer programs for children, lead clean-ups, staff booths at June Fling, Blountsville Harvest Festival, Covered Bridge Festival, and other events, and serve on the board of directors. With all we get done, there’s more we want to do.
You can also help from home with bookkeeping, grant writing, and research.
Come help us! Become a volunteer, and we’ll contact you for a given volunteer opportunity. If you’re not available for that one, we’ll try you on the next go-round.

We'd love to have you join FLFR's volunteers!
From our Volunteer Coordinator, Ellen Luce:
My fondest memories are of camping along the Locust Fork River with my grandparents, parents and brothers. We kids slept under rock ledges! Grandmother brought all the camping supplies and she'd cook the fresh fish for the whole gang.
Now, with grown daughters of my own, I want to give back to the river that has given me so much. The river is my natural medication to manage stress".
