Snowy is a White Hawk at the Kids Saving the Rainforest wildlife sanctuary in Costa Rica. She is blind in one eye, which has taken her depth perception from her. As a result, she can no longer catch her prey and feed herself. She can never be released back into the wild because of her handicap.
Snowy has been with us for five years and doesn't currently have the space to properly stretch her wings. Every day she is losing more of her muscles she needs for flying. Her behavior also indicates that she is very unhappy - she sits in the same spot day by day.
Her life would be greatly improved if she had a flight cage. Flight cages allow birds like Snowy to do what she is supposed to do - fly. We could also use the flight cage to help rehabilitate birds who are preparing for their release back into the rainforest. But the problem is, these enclosures are very expensive.
We need your help! Please help us to give Snowy and other birds like her the best life they can have by donating towards a flight cage. Snowy thanks you!
Our amazing volunteer Andrea Wibmer came all the way from Austria to do her part to help save the rainforest. She has taken it on as her mission to help bring about this amazing change for Snowy and other birds in our care. Please support her vision, and help give our birds wings!
