In 2013 the very first Wicked Wine Run, created by Krys and Sam Davis, introduced the new concept of wine themed fun runs to the national racing scene. The Davis’ envisioned an original event concept that ANYONE would be excited to participate in, whether avid runner, wine lover, foodie or couch potato.
With 10 years of operating their fitness and wellness company, thousands of clients and plenty of national recognition in the exercise industry the two set out to produce Wicked Wine Run in their local community to serve their diverse base of existing customers and their friends. But after just one Wicked Wine Run thousands of people from everywhere and dozens of vineyards, began to demand a Wicked Wine Run in their city.
An evening 5K fueled by wine with rocking after party, food trucks and more wine…plus, a 1K wine tasting walk for non-runners, too? Who didn’t love it!
Seventy Wicked Wine Runs later, the event is getting better and more wicked each and every race.
So, what’s the magic? They say it’s their WWR team and putting the runner experience first. “Our current team includes race directors and supporting staff that have the experience of 8, 15, and even 20 Wicked Wine Run events and 5 to 20 years in the race production industry. Many of us are, also, avid running enthusiasts who just love running in different fun runs and marathons around the U.S.”, Sam says.
The company is laser focused on providing participants an unforgettable race night out filled with wine, friends, and fun that they’ll talk about for ages. “I am humbled and sincerely grateful for each runner that chooses to get wicked with us.”
Fox, CBS, Self Magazine, Runner’s World Magazine, Greatist, Buzzfeed and numerous media have recognized the Wicked Wine Run as one of the nation’s top running experiences. Find out why by checking out some of those articles and videos in the links below.
