Most of the animals that KSTR receives come with very serious injuries, trauma, and diseases and require X-rays. Unfortunately, KSTR does not have one on-site and has to travel for one hour to a location that has one. Sloths, monkeys, birds...They all need YOUR help!
Right now we are raising funds to be able to purchase a DIGITAL X-RAY machine for our rescue center. Having an X-RAY machine on site is crucial for us to help save so many animals’ lives. Most of the animals we receive require X-rays, but unfortunately, we can only do them on the animals whose lives depend on them. This is because the closest X-ray machine to our vet clinic is one hour away. So every time an injured animal requires an X-ray, we need to find transportation to transfer the animal and drive with them for over 60km to get the X-ray taken, then do the whole trip again to bring them back.
YOU CAN DELIVER LIFE AND HOPE TO ANIMALS
When the animals first arrive at our rescue center, they are very stressed, scared and in pain and require immediate attention. Transporting them in a vehicle for one hour in their delicate condition creates more trauma and puts the animal in even more danger of dying. It’s extremely critical that we are able to act fast and get X-rays in order to help save these animals' lives. Having to waste valuable time coordinating for transportation and transporting the animal one hour is something we don’t want to do.
Sadly, many times the animal has died during the transportation to the X-ray machine - before we have even been able to do anything for them. With your help, we can raise funds to get an X-ray machine and be able to diagnose the animals in time and act on it immediately. Giving the animals a better chance and making them more comfortable while they are already battling for their lives.
SPECIFICALLY, ALL FUNDS RAISED WILL GO TOWARDS:
1. Digital X-ray Machine. This includes the X-RAY Digitizer, X-RAY Generator and the stand for
2. Veterinarian software, computer, and monitor to evaluate the images.
3. Table for the patient.
4. Protective apparel for radiation: 2 lead aprons and 2 lead collars for the staff to safely use
5. Building a small diagnostic room for the machine.
We thank you from the bottom of our hearts for any amount of support you can give the animals. Not to mention how grateful the animals will be that you are making their fight to survive a lot easier!
