Approximately 30,000 people in the United States live with the chronic and live threatening genetic disease Cystic Fibrosis. About half of them are under the age of 18. CF is a complex and life-shortening progressive disease that impacts the respiratory and digestive systems, requiring a grueling daily care regimen to combat potentially fatal lung infections. Exercise, including yoga, is one of the leading methods of proactively managing CF due to its natural airway clearance, reducing reliance on antibiotics that bacteria become resistant to over time.
We believe that people with CF are more than their diagnosis. As a virtual yoga studio for the CF community,
CF Yogi is providing a place where people with CF can come together. We're building relationships as we learn from each other about how yoga can improve our wellness of body, mind, and spirit.
With your support, we'll be able to perform outreach events to the CF community and develop new blog and video content to enrich our students' yoga practice! In addition to our core program of livestreamed yoga classes in our virtual studio, your patronage helps us "keep the lights" on by funding critical technology and personnel costs that keep our program going.
