Leading the charge for #indiancontemporary dance, Brinda Guha and her dance company Kalamandir derives expression from kathak to create work in the social justice realm of dance.
Women are strong. Women are vulnerable. Women fight for the sanctity of life & safety the same way all people do. Women are resilient. Using the language of the Contemporary Indian movement developed by Brinda Guha, Kalamandir Dance Company will present a few works in progress that explore the very human instincts that women experience in their daily experience: love, sadness, anger, longing, sisterhood, divine guidance, and defeat.
