There are no major statues of women
historical figures in the city of Chicago. Let's put this iconic Irish
immigrant refugee and founder of the American labor movement--the Mother
of the working class--on a statue in the city she called home. Imagine presenting a strong, courageous, bold women in downtown Chicago. She deserves it. We deserve it.
The government of Ireland seeded this project with $36,000 grant. We need to raise a total of $200,000. Please give generously. All donations are tax-deductible. We are a 501-c-3.
We have applied for locations on Wacker, near Michigan, one of the highest traffic areas of the city. We are confident this will be in a prominent location.
Imagine, "Let's meet at the Mother Jones statue!"To learn more about Mother Jones, visit www.motherjonesmuseum.org But be sure to come back here to make a donation to this special fundraiser! Please note: this is not the final image of the statue, but a start. This is the proposed location.
