Contraceptive Initiative’s (MCI) Youth
Advisory Board (YAB) consists of students and young professionals
passionate about male contraception. They provide our organization with
insights into the perceptions and needs of younger users, who are key to understanding what new male methods need to be successful. MCI also helps YAB members with their own professional development by facilitating attendance at conferences, research projects, and ample networking opportunities.
In mid 2020, our YAB supported the review of proposed research
projects for MCI’s David
Sokal Innovation Awards and Discovery and Development Awards. Their
participation in this process helped to expand the areas of focus beyond
clinical product research to the exploration of sociobehavioral impacts of male
contraception. Our YAB also plays a key role in ensuring that we consistently integrate
youth input in our ongoing educational outreach and advocacy efforts.
We recruit passionate, knowledgeable, and well-spoken youth
leaders. Your investment is incredibly valuable in providing the YAB with resources
to develop outreach materials, assemble meetings and town halls, engage with and recruit peers, and more!
