Here at ChalkBox our mission is to supplement students’ needs by bringing back important aspects of normal schooling lost during this era of virtual learning.

We are currently offering two programs for youth aged 10-14. Both programs meet weekly on Saturday between February 13th and March 20th, for a total of 6 sessions. Students living anywhere in the US are eligible to register. Registration for both programs closes on 1/31/2021. Register before 1/15/2021 for an early bird discount of $10.

Program #1: “The Science of the Pandemic” meets from 10 am - 12 pm EST

Program #2: “Explore Your World” meets from 1 pm - 3 pm EST

THE SCIENCE OF THE PANDEMIC: Delve into the science behind COVID by analyzing the spread of infection through biology, chemistry, physics, and mathematics. Take on the roles of engineer, detective, and astronomer as we teach concepts of circuitry, DNA science, and chemical bonds. Curriculum will incorporate many hands-on experiments that students can conduct from their own home as well as other interactive activities to do alongside their peers and mentors. The cost of enrollment in the six week program is $160 -- which includes program time, all materials, and delivery of “ChalkBox” to home address. Full and partial scholarships are available to all students who indicate need.

EXPLORE YOUR WORLD: Students will grow their own plants, build models of parts of the body, create their own moving robot, learn about pollution, and more! From biologist to architect, students will get a diverse look at careers in STEM that play an important role in today’s world. Curriculum will incorporate many hands-on experiments that students can conduct from their own home as well as other interactive activities to do alongside their peers and mentors. The cost of enrollment in the six week program is $160 -- which includes program time, all materials, and delivery of “ChalkBox” to home address. Full and partial scholarships are available to all students who indicate need.

Our mentors currently attend Harvard University, Washington University in St. Louis, University of Chicago, UC Berkeley, and University of Virginia.
