Community Garden at Easton Sports Park
F3 is excited to share with you the launching of the Community Garden campaign to support the Foundation's environmental education and gardening programs at Easton Sports Park. The programs are to be led by our future Director of Environmental Awareness, Max Rosenthal.
Max is a graduate of Tel Aviv University with a MA in Environmental Studies, and Ohio State University with a BS in Landscape Architecture. His areas of focus within his studies were in environmental education and agriculture. Although Max will be joining the F3 family in a new role, he is no stranger to us as he was a founding CEFC coach.
The goal is to raise $5000, which will be used to purchase materials for raised garden beds. This includes, but is not limited to: wood, hardware, soil, seeds, and gardening tools.
In an effort to involve our participants in our goals, F3 is fundraising to build raised garden beds at the park. The community garden will host our environmental education and gardening programs with our partner organization, Columbus East Soccer Association. The Spring 2021 pilot program will be known as CESA Sprouts.
The Environmental Awareness Programs are being designed to:
foster a connection to, and appreciation for, our surrounding environments
introduce participants to gardening and nutrition
enhance the overall awareness of how our lives impact the environments we live in
Our Spring 2021 CESA Sprouts Program will be the first program led by Max Rosenthal, and will coincide with the 8-week CESA Soccer Season. Each Saturday, during the hour-long program, youth participants will experience the relationships that take place in the garden through observation, documentation, and planting/gardening.
