Join Kansas City Suicide Awareness and Prevention Program (KC SAPP) in the new year for a free one-hour presentation on Wednesday, February 24, 2021 from Noon-1:00 pm by Zoom on Suicidality and Disconnection.
This one-hour presentation will explore how feelings of disconnection can lead to our perpetuate thoughts of suicide, and how to help increase a sense of connection in those with whom you interact.
The main objectives of this presentation are the following:
1. Identify how feelings of disconnection interact with suicidal thoughts and behaviors.
2. Explore how COVID-19 has impacted disconnection.
3. Identify ways in which we can help clients increase a sense of connection to help reduce suicidality.
Presenter: James McMillian, LCPC
James McMillian is a licensed clinical professional counselor in Kansas and Missouri, the Director of Counseling Ministries at Church of the Resurrection, and a professor in counseling at MidAmerica Nazarene University. James specializes in trauma and grief work and is a clinical supervisor for interns and licensed clinicians.
