Sabrina Broste
Hello Everyone!
As I said in my last update, I had reached out to a new ministry here in Quiché and was eagerly awaiting to hear back from them. Shortly after, they reached out to inform me that they had a position available for me in their ministry. I am very happy to announce that I now am a part of the ministry “Agape in Action” here in Quiché, Guatemala.
Agape’s motto is “Healing bodies, mending souls” and that is exactly what they do. As they describe in their website, “Agape in Action (AIA) is a medical organization serving in Quiché. We conduct medical rural clinics in the most forgotten areas where people are most in need. In addition to medical care, AIA is also involved in pastoral training, leadership development, educational support and community aid. We are a Christ centered organization that desires to be led by God every step of the way.”
Currently, I am assisting in the spiritual side of the ministry. I assist the chaplain, Andres, in praying for the patients in the different clinics, doing kids activities for the children, going out into the communities to meet with different families and build relationships with them, and many other things. It has been such a pleasure and a fun new experience to go out into the rural areas all over Quiché and to be welcomed into the homes of the people in these communities. I have loved hearing the different stories of the patients and the families who have relationships with Agape. It has been such joy to be able to share the gospel with them and to be able to pray for them.
I have worked one full week here at Agape and I really love this ministry and all that they do. It has been such a pleasure to serve alongside them. Everyone here in this ministry has welcomed me to the team with so much kindness. I am very excited to see what the future holds for me within this ministry.
I am incredibly grateful that God answered my prayers and opened this door to a new opportunity to be able to keep serving the people of Guatemala. I will be staying here in Quiché and will therefore still be living off of support. If you would like to continue your support or become a new supporter, donations can be made in the following ways:
