The Cross Time Trial Series is for the avid cyclist that likes to push themselves to the very limit every now and again.
One aspect of what we do at Circle City Relief is provide our friends in Indy with fresh produce every Sunday along with other food items like rescued pizza from Little Caesars, bread items from Costco, dessert and bread from Kroger and soup from Park 100 Foods.
The funds generated from this cycling time trial series will be used specifically for that purpose.
Matt Gay, Co-Founder and Executive Director of CCR is an avid cyclist that likes to push himself to the limit, kinda more than every now and again, and has riden and created this very challenging, kinda technical but very fun Cross shaped time trial course in Carmel.
The Cross representing the sacrifice Jesus gave for us so that we can be in right relationship with the Father for those that believe in Him. The cross route has been a time of sacrifice for Matt and moments to reflect on Gods goodness.
This amazing route starts at the Fresh Thyme parking lot up Township Line Rd which turns into Towne Rd after the 465 overpass and takes a right turn onto Main Street. From there you travel through the beautiful residential areas past Spring Mill rd to Illinois where you take a u-turn at the roundabout and head back towards Towne Rd. Once back at Towne Rd turn right and up to 146th street where you will follow the roundabout back down towards Main Street (131st street now) where you take a right. You then take it all the way to a small roundabout at Riverbirch Run and head back to Towne Rd for the last right hand turn to the finish at the Kroger parking lot at 86th street.
The route is just at 20 miles. For the very fast cyclist your looking at about an hour of riding as hard as you can. For the novice you're looking at about 1 hr 15 minutes and for the ultra fast cyclist like Nate Hopf...Well, you're looking at 50-55 minutes. Now that's fast! If you want to know who Nate is just register and you might have a chance to meet him.

Teams: Consisting of 3-4 riders working together for the fastest time possible.
$75 per team for a single ride. For a team of four one riders rides free :-) Your team can purchase the series price from any week during the year and save 20% for the series. We prefer that start from week-one but it does not have to. The goal for the teams is to see which team can obtain the fastest time for the course by Sept 25th.
A separate page will be created to show who is the fastest Cross Rider for the day or series as well as certain segment times.
Before your ride, instructions will be given about hazards, course layout, and precautions to consider as you ride alone or with a team.
You can register to pay in advance or in person is available on the event saturday of your choosing.
All start times are on a first come first take off basis. So if you are the first to arrive you can be the first to take off. If in a bunch, we will let riders take off every five minutes.
Course times are segmented on Strava so it is recommended that you have a cycling computer to for upload to Strava and segment evaluation after the ride. The goal is to have fun and help CCR provide much needed healthy food items for our friends.
This is the first year of the Circle City Relief Cross Time Trial Series and we hope it isn't the last. We are sure there will be some initial kinks in the process but will work things out as they go. We appreciate your flexibility. Cyclists are cool people :-).
