Upbeat Academy is proud to launch Beyond Beats - a month-long giving campaign to ensure Upbeat Academy's programs remain free and thriving for students in the Greater New Orleans area in 2021 and beyond!
The COVID-19 pandemic has significantly impacted the music community. As a modern music education program, our program has relied heavily upon support from the music community. Despite sustained financial losses due to COVID, we have continued to create virtual music programs for young people, supporting our Student Artists' visions and goals within the music industry.
Every donation we receive from now until December 31st will ensure that the next generation of young artists can be supported through our free programs!

ABOUT UPBEAT ACADEMY:
Upbeat Academy Foundation has been inspiring and empowering New Orleans area young people with a modern approach to music education since 2012. Utilizing an original curriculum that provides access to technology and the tools used in the production and performance of hip hop, rap, R&B, dance music, and other popular genres, Upbeat nurtures the next generation of talent and entrepreneurs.
At the start of the pandemic, Upbeat Academy quickly pivoted to providing its classes virtually. From Zoom classes to video modules on Twitch, Upbeat Academy has been responding to the immediate needs of our youth and music communities. We’ve been excited for our expanded Upbeat Studios programming, which includes FREEWATER marketing and branding classes and Music Industry Forums, hosting guests like Kenny Beats, De’Mont Callendar, and more!
We’ve also been continuing our work within the community, providing credit-bearing classes for students at the Living School New Orleans, Center for Resilience, and the Travis Hill School at the Juvenile Justice Intervention Center for our Upbeat Schools program, supporting music education in schools in the Greater New Orleans area. We’ve also been excited to partner with Son of a Saint and the Covenant House of New Orleans, providing their students with mentorship and classes in music production and songwriting.
This year, enrollment for our classes has increased this year, with 20 classes serving over 180 students each week!
