5th Annual Gingerbread House Competition
The holiday season is upon us! Time to bring out the Christmas lights, deck your halls, and - of course - get ready for Montrose Grace Place’s 5th Annual Gingerbread House Competition and Fundraiser!
Each year this fun, family-friendly event helps us raise critical funds and bring in new friends to support the important work of Montrose Grace Place: providing homeless youth of all sexual orientations and gender identities a hot meal and a safe space to be themselves.
Due to COVID-19 this year’s event will look a little different. We’ll be providing gingerbread houses and family fun kits to our teams through a drive-through pick-up on November 28th. Teams have ten days to complete their gingerbread masterpieces at home together. Then virtual judging will take place with winners announced on December 12th!
While this year’s event won’t bring us together in person like usual, it will still be a fun time to spend with friends and family.
2020 has been difficult for nearly everybody. But it’s been especially hard for those who - like our youth - were already struggling with homelessness, food insecurity, and poverty. MGP has been trying to fill the gap, expanding our services beyond meals and fellowship to include meaningful financial assistance and housing assessments.
