Fee: $95 per registrant. Once registered, a short audition video clip will be requested.

Flutists from MYSO as well as the community are welcome to join Instructor Annie Sun Chung for a special 8-week virtual class. Students will have the opportunity to rehearse together virtually while learning flute ensemble music from a variety of composers from classical to modern! Players will also experience some of the greatest flute duos in orchestra repertoire from composers such as J.S Bach, Bizet, Brahms, Beethoven and more. This zoom class will culminate with a virtual presentation of performances!
About the Instructor:
Annie Sun Chung is excited to be part of MYSO's 2020-2021 season. She is a Masters of Music candidate in Wind Conducting and a Graduate Assistant at Northern Illinois University. She is the recent winner of the NIU Philharmonic Orchestra Concerto Competition.
Prior to NIU, she was the lead instrumental director for grades 4-12 at a private school in the North Shore of Chicago, where the program had a 50% growth in new enrollment. She is a licensed K-12 music educator, an active performer, and adjudicator in the Chicagoland area.
She was the principal flutist of Logos Symphony Orchestra and has performed at The Midwest Clinic International Band and Orchestra Conference with the Wheaton Municipal Band. Her students have been accepted in the competitive District 7 ILMEA at the junior and senior levels, have received Division I ratings at solo contests, and are members of the Midwest Young Artist Conservatory and Chicago Youth Symphony orchestras. She also taught as a flute chamber coach at the MYAC in Highwood. She is passionate about the next generation of young musicians and being a part of MYSO.
