#Giving Tuesday 2020
We're Grateful for Your Continued Support
Join the Daniel A. Payne Community Development Corporation (DAPCDC) during #Giving Tuesday 2020 to help raise money for a worthy cause, educating and training young men and women to be future scientists and engineers. Together we can do our part to close the gap in participation by people of color in STEM career fields. Your contribution will make an impact, whether you donate $5 or $500. Every little bit helps. #Giving Tuesday 2020 is on December 1 this year, but you can donate today.
Your donations will be used to expose students to STEM, Robotics, and Coding programs that stimulate them to pursue careers in these disciplines. Our programs will excite students about STEM and propel them into high school and college to pursue degrees in these important fields. Equally as important, the parents, friends, and siblings of the students we reach will be supportive as they see STEM careers as achievable.
The STEM Program, which is managed by DAPCDC's Percy Julian Institute, provides multiple pathways to engage minority students: (1) arranging STEM field trips for students from a group of middle schools in Washington, DC, Maryland, and Virginia with significant minority populations; (2) programs in Robotics; (3) a Girls Who Code Club; and (4) a National Society of Black Engineers, Jr. Chapter (NSBE, Jr.). Since its inception in 2011, the Percy Julian Institute has served over 1200 students in its various programs. With your help we can continue this important work. We are grateful for your support.
